Carbide Industries Memorial
Reclaimed brick and painted steel column

This commission is a memorial for two workers who died in an explosion in the furnace area. Carbide wanted me to create an onsite memorial that would honor them. We reclaimed the bricks and (Carbide) wanted to use the steel column that melted in the fire/explosion. The column was painted to look like a flame. I designed the memorial to represent the circle of life in a repeated concentric pattern.
