I included a canopy of cut tulip tree branches which are an invasive species and were cut down around the same time I was looking for canopy materials. I had to design the branches so that they would not sit in the COB to rot - so I built side pockets with the cider blocks to place the large branches. I wrapped them triple time with landscape fabric, placed them in the cider block holes and used gravel to secure them and to create another drainage system.
The canopy is partly aesthetic, partly functional. I will travel back to the Terrahand to build onto the canopy until it feels complete.
